The first patented long-lasting antimicrobial solution
Introducing a new range of long-lasting sanitizing products based on a patented technology: PhotoACTIVE Ag is a liquid coating that, when drying in contact with the air, creates a long-lasting mesh with an effective anti-microbial, anti-bacterial and anti-mold action, delivering a full year of continuous protection.
PhotoACTIVE Ag is the only product on the market to have been specifically tested against SARS-CoV-2, the virus responsible for Covid-19. Tests were carried out in accordance with the ISO 14476 standard, the only standard recommended by the Institut Pasteur (French foundation dedicated to the study of biology, micro-organisms, diseases, and vaccines) in the fight against coronaviruses.
- Tested against SARS-CoV-2
- 12 months of continuous sanitation
- Eliminates VOCs, NOx and SOx
- Anti odor and purifies the air
- Standards ISO 14476 and EN1276
- Hydrophilic and self-cleaning
- Economical
- Environmentally friendly
What is PhotoACTIVE ?
How it works
PHOTOCATALYSIS
The activation of semiconductors by light triggers the catalytic process and the oxido-reduction of the lipid membrane of viruses and bacteria. They are decomposed into water vapor and other volatile elements (nitrogen, oxygen…).
PhotoACTIVE also contains an adjuvant that helps speed up catalysis reactions when photons are lacking, making it is as effective in the light as it is in the dark.
Tested and certified against
SARS-CoV-2 and H1N1
Thanks to the support and research carried out by researchers and professors from the University of Siena, PhotoACTIVE® Ag demonstrated its efficacy against the new SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus and the H1N1 virus in under 15 minutes.
PhotoACTIVE® Ag is a powerful bactericide with a bacterial reduction greater than 5-Log in under 5 minutes – a 99,999% kill rate.
Its properties make it an excellent fungicide.
A long-lasting solution
12 MONTHS OF SANITATION
When traditional cleaning products only keep surfaces sanitized for up to 4 hours (at best!), PhotoACTIVE® delivers 12 months of sanitation. Due to its amorphous colloidal structure, PhotoACTIVE adheres strongly to surfaces and is not easily removable.
PhotoACTIVE can be used to treat porous or non-porous surfaces alike, as well as textiles, glass, metal, or plastic surfaces… And more.
How is it working ?
PhotoACTIVE is a colloidal liquid solution that penetrates and attacks the lipid membrane of bacteria or viruses, thus reducing the microbial load present on treated surfaces. PhotoACTIVE is one of the most reliable long-lasting virucidal and bactericidal solutions available on the market, and is already used by many medical facilities. PhotoACTIVE is a long-lasting nanocoating that keeps treated surfaces bacteria-free and virus-free for a year, delivering continuous protection.
How it works: reactive hydroxyl radicals are generated by the photochemical reaction of our patented PhotoACTIVE semiconductor. They penetrate the lipid membrane of bacteria and viruses to degrade it. PhotoACTIVE operates within the spectrum of visible light, and the addition of an adjuvant also makes it effective in the dark. As opposed to conventional, aggressive chemicals, this technology does not merely kill viruses and bacteria – it decomposes them into gaseous substances such as CO2 and water vapor: microbes evaporate into volatile molecules!
PhotoACTIVE particles have an average size of 5 to 7 nanometers – a lot smaller than viruses or bacteria. The following diagram shows these dimensions on a proportional scale. Due to its adhesive properties, this nanostructure is able to link itself to any substrate and, through the photocatalysis reaction, can immediately degrade biological or carbonaceous molecules. Once it is dry, PhotoACTIVE is neither toxic nor harmful to human health.
PhotoACTIVE is the first long-lasting solution to be certified against Covid-19. It was tested at the University of Siena by the first research team to discover how to isolate SARS-CoV-2, back in April 2020.
The team of Professor Maria Grazia Cusi, professor in microbiology and clinical microbiology in the department of Medical Biotechnologies at the University of Siena, and also director of the UOC in microbiology and virology at Siena University Hospital, declared:
We are pleased to share the great success of our PhotoACTIVE® product against SARS-CoV-2
PhotoACTIVE is a new long-lasting antimicrobial product tested by the University of Siena, demonstrating excellent results against Covid.
Tests and analyses of the PhotoACTIVE compound were commissioned by a consortium of companies.
The team of professor Maria Grazia Cusi, professor in microbiology and clinical microbiology in the department of Medical Biotechnologies at the University of Siena, and also director of the UOC in microbiology and virology at Siena University Hospital, is currently working on researching and diagnosing the SARS-CoV-2 virus. They were the first in Tuscany, in April 2020, to isolate the SARS-CoV-2 virus in cell cultures. This result allowed the scientific community to study this pathogen, evaluate its virulence and research potential antiviral medication and vaccines.
